A Advantech Case Study
Leading Autonomous Vehicle Technology Company needed a compact, reliable, high-performance in-vehicle system to enable accurate environment sensing for next‑generation self-driving cars. The company required low-latency multi-channel video capture (4–8 SDI cameras to avoid 400–500 ms IP-camera delays), integrated GPU acceleration, multiple USB I/O for external sensors, CAN bus/fieldbus support, and an easy-to-use SDK—so it partnered with Advantech to deliver the required hardware and software platform.
Advantech implemented a solution centered on the MIC-7700Q compact fanless system with a 7th‑Gen Intel Core i processor, an MIC-75S20 expansion chassis, a DVP-7640HE 8-channel SDI video capture card, and a Tesla P4 GPU, plus iDoor CAN expansion and a developer SDK. The deployment processes full‑HD 1920×1080 video at 30 fps from up to eight SDI cameras with minimal latency, integrates 3D lidar/GPS/IMU and other sensors via USB and CAN, and provides a stable, rugged in-vehicle platform—enabling real‑time environment sensing and faster application development thanks to Advantech’s hardware and SDK.
