Advantech Lands Flight Information Display System for World’s Largest Airport

Istanbul Airport, opened in 2018 and designed to be the world’s largest single terminal with capacity for tens of millions of passengers, needed a reliable Flight Information Display System (FIDS) to support wayfinding across check‑in, gates and baggage claim. The airport required real‑time information delivery, 24/7 uptime, remote management for thousands of distributed displays, and a compact, cableless solution. Advantech answered the brief with its DS‑280 OPS digital signage player.

Advantech deployed the DS‑280 as an OPS slot‑in player across more than 3,000 FIDS installations, leveraging 6th‑Gen Intel Core graphics, internal Mini‑PCIe Wi‑Fi support and Intel AMT for full remote KVM and secure reset. The cableless OPS design reduced exposed wiring, sped installation and maintenance, and enabled seamless, real‑time passenger information delivery to multiple displays (triple 4K outputs), cutting installation complexity and improving FIDS efficiency and customer satisfaction.
