Advantech High Brightness Display Solutions Shine on Digital Drive-thru Menu Boards

Restaurant Menu Service Provider needed a reliable digital drive‑thru solution for a 1×3 portrait‑mounted 21.5” three‑screen menu board installed in a semi‑outdoor lane. The primary challenges were high visibility in direct sunlight and continuous 24/7 operation, requiring excellent thermal management and energy efficiency. Advantech was selected to address these requirements using its IDS‑3121W ultra‑high brightness display solution.

Advantech deployed the IDS‑3121W, a 21.5" FHD industrial open‑frame monitor boosted to 1200 nits via an in‑house high‑efficiency LED backlight and optical film, with a thermal plate to keep the display surface under 40 °C and an auto‑brightness sensor offering five dimming levels (5%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%). The result is markedly improved visibility in direct sunlight, reliable semi‑outdoor 24/7 operation, and lower power consumption despite the brightness increase from 300 to 1200 nits, enabling the menu boards to consistently present up‑to‑date promotions to customers.
