Advantech Digital Signage in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport

Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan's largest and busiest airport serving more than 115,000 passengers per day, needed a robust digital signage solution to deliver up-to-date flight information and wayfinding across check-in counters, boarding gates and baggage claim areas. Advantech was chosen to meet varied display-output requirements (single, dual, four-off/video walls), space-constrained slim installations, and the need for accurate, rugged 24/7 operation; Advantech DS-063 and DS-980 players were selected for the deployment.

Advantech deployed DS-063 units at check-in and immigration areas—fanless, 19 mm-thin VESA-mount players powered by Intel Core/Celeron/Atom that deliver 1080p playback on two screens for easy installation and maintenance—and DS-980 systems to drive four- and six-screen video walls in departure halls and baggage claim, using 6th Gen Intel CPUs, dual-channel memory, M.2 wireless and a PCIe x16 expansion to support up to six displays. The Advantech solution enabled real-time flight information, wayfinding and advertising across terminals, supported 24/7 non-stop operation, improved passenger experience, and scaled to serve the airport’s 115,000+ daily travelers with higher graphics performance and better price-to-performance than traditional controllers.
