FLO® validates holster angle with 50-user prototype testing by Advanta Design

Advanta Design was engaged by FLO®, a provider of electric vehicle charging solutions, to finalize the design for manufacturing of their new FLO Home™ line of electric car chargers. The client's primary challenge was to integrate all necessary internal components into their pre-approved and visually distinct product design without altering its external form factor, all while ensuring the units could withstand harsh environmental conditions and rigorous use.

The solution implemented by Advanta Design involved meticulous engineering to meet NEMA 4X and IK10 durability standards, extensive ergonomic testing to perfect the holster angle, and the creation of both plastic and aluminum housing options. By applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to all designs and managing a complex, parallel development process, Advanta Design ensured a seamless transition to high-quality manufacturing. This allowed FLO® to successfully launch a reliable, user-friendly product line with multiple housing alternatives to meet different client needs and budgets.
