AMD Radeon & Ubisoft unveil RX 7000 XTX Avatar Limited Edition with Advanta Design in 2023

AMD Radeon and Ubisoft partnered with Advanta Design to create a special edition graphics card that embodied the rich, sensory universe of Pandora for the release of the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora game. The challenge was to develop a product that moved beyond a merely decorative item and broke away from the traditional codes of gaming hardware.

Advanta Design developed a unique casing with organic geometry, requiring new molds and casting assemblies. The solution featured a thermal awakening effect; from 35°C onward, patterns inspired by Pandora appear on the card thanks to a temperature-sensitive surface treatment. This created an evolving object whose aesthetic is revealed through use, successfully extending the magic of the Avatar universe into a functional product.
