Bombardier launches Innovia ART 300 train exteriors with Advanta Design in 2016

Advanta Design was selected by Bombardier, a Canadian transportation manufacturer, to design the exterior for its new Innovia ART 300 train. The challenge was to create a more dynamic and updated style that conveyed a sense of speed, while also addressing a long-standing technical tolerance issue and ensuring the design was feasible for manufacturing and assembly.

Advanta Design delivered a comprehensive solution, managing the project from initial design through to the delivery of two full-scale prototypes for testing. Their approach combined aesthetic innovation with technical pragmatism, resulting in a train end-cap with a larger windshield for better visibility and a structure that simplified assembly and maintenance. The successful design is now deployed on railway lines across three continents, starting with Vancouver in 2016, and provided Bombardier with significant cost savings and manufacturing efficiencies.
