The University of Cambridge improves efficiencies year-on-year with Managed Catalogue

The University of Cambridge needed a procurement system that could maintain visibility of contract terms, control spend across departments, and support diverse specialist purchasing needs while staying efficient and adaptable. To meet these challenges, it worked with Advanced and used its Managed Catalogue solution as part of the iProcurement rollout.

Advanced implemented the Advanced eCatalogue with a web-based interface that improved Oracle compliance and supported both major, local, and specialist suppliers while keeping procurement in control of products and pricing. The solution went live in under three months, fully met project aims within 12 months, and now handles tens of thousands of orders each year, representing over 45% of all University orders; it also enabled an HMRC-approved electronic process for medical VAT exemption certificates, affecting 58% of orders through the eCatalogue and delivering significant efficiency savings.
