Sheffield Hallam University needed an independent finance and accounting system to support its growth, corporate status, and rapidly changing IT strategy. Working with Advanced and its e5 product, the university sought modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order Processing, and Commitment Accounting, while also preparing for better income collection and integration across systems.
Advanced implemented e5 on an IBM RS/6000 with Oracle, adding key finance modules and later Accounts Receivable, reporting, and desktop integration tools such as Microsoft Access, Excel, and Word. The system went live in January 1995, improved flexibility and scalability across multiple platforms, protected prior investment in people and technology, and enabled Sheffield Hallam University to better support its expansion and reporting needs.
