Mercer Successfully Migrates Pension Application from Openvms to Windows Server Environment

Mercer, a leading global provider of consulting and outsourcing services, faced a scalability challenge as its critical MIDAS pension administration system was running on a legacy OpenVMS Alpha cluster nearing capacity. The vendor, Advanced, was chosen to migrate the application to a modern, scalable platform to support new business and self-service features without needing a complete system replacement.

Advanced utilized its Legacy Liberator toolset to migrate the MIDAS application from OpenVMS to a modern Windows and Linux environment, converting the COBOL code to .NET and the database to Oracle. The project was completed on time and within budget, successfully migrating over 1,000 pension plans.
