A Advanced Case Study
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, a major NHS trust in England, faced a severe financial challenge when it identified a £35 million deficit. To address this, the Trust initiated its 'Building World Class Finance Programme' and turned to its long-term partner, Advanced, for a solution. The goal was to replace outdated, centralized budgeting with a more collaborative approach, empowering non-finance managers to take ownership of their forecasts.
Advanced implemented its Collaborative Planning software, a budgeting and forecasting system that integrated with the Trust's existing Advanced financial systems. This provided over 250 managers with a single, web-based platform for creating accurate, rolling forecasts. The solution was a key factor in the Trust's remarkable financial turnaround, transforming the £35 million deficit into a £15 million surplus within two years and providing greater control over all financial planning.
