A Advanced Case Study
Cheshire West & Chester Council, facing severe budget pressures and a need to improve control across a newly merged authority, needed a better way to manage forecasting and spending. With Advanced’s Collaborative Planning budgeting and forecasting solution, the Council aimed to reduce its reliance on spreadsheets and manual Finance support while giving budget-holders more ownership of their budgets.
Advanced implemented Collaborative Planning with direct Oracle integration, enabling budget holders and managers to create, monitor, and approve forecasts in one system. The results included eliminating manual errors, cutting the reporting cycle by a week, and delivering £1 million in savings versus an initial £500,000 target. The solution also expanded to more than 380 budget-holders and 40 capital budget managers, improving transparency and financial management across the Council.
