AMEC Engineers a New Automation Strategy forDynamics AX, SQL Server and More

AMEC Foster Wheeler E&C Services, a global engineering, project management and consultancy firm, faced a fragmented automation landscape of Windows Task Scheduler, SQL Server Agent, Oracle stored procedures and other point tools. The company needed to consolidate scheduling, reliably integrate Microsoft Dynamics AX with other systems, and scale without per-user license costs; they selected Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc.'s ActiveBatch (including the ActiveBatch Extension for Dynamics AX) to meet those needs.

Advanced Systems Concepts, Inc. deployed ActiveBatch across AMEC’s environment—using the Integrated Jobs Library, SSIS Job Step, event-driven triggers and the Dynamics AX Extension to build drag-and-drop workflows and automate build/release processes. The solution (rolled out to 15 developers and 10 operations users) gave AMEC a single control/monitoring point with proactive alerts and runtime monitoring, simplified Dynamics AX integrations (invoices, payroll, exchange rates), removed per-user licensing constraints, and drove job completion rates to 99.8%, improving reliability and developer productivity.
