Nortek Uses the GNSS Compass for Its Next Surveying Solution

Nortek, a U.S. developer of underwater acoustics instruments, needed a reliable and accurate heading source to assist its vessel-mounted ADCP surveying solution while keeping integration simple and future-ready. To meet this challenge, Nortek evaluated Advanced Navigation’s GNSS Compass for use in its Signature VM package.

Advanced Navigation’s GNSS Compass provided dual-antenna GNSS-based heading, position, velocity, and Ethernet PTP synchronization in a single marine-tolerant unit, replacing separate GNSS and gyro-compass components. As a result, Nortek simplified setup, reduced integration complexity and installation time, improved data synchronization and transfer, and delivered a more cost-effective high-performance ADCP/navigation solution.
