Certus MEMS INS Improves Efficiency of LimnTech Scientific Road-Marking Solution

LimnTech Scientific, a United States roadway marking technology company, wanted to automate road marking to improve worker safety, reduce labor costs, and increase efficiency in difficult urban and rural environments. It needed a reliable RTK-compatible MEMS navigation system that could maintain accuracy in GNSS-impaired areas such as dense tree cover, overpasses, buildings, and tunnels, where its previous system struggled to deliver enough availability.

Advanced Navigation provided the Certus MEMS INS for the LifeMark automated road-marking system, and worked with LimnTech Scientific through testing and integration to optimize performance. The new setup improved reliability in challenging GNSS conditions, with reported system use in some cases rising from 40% to 70%, while also enabling a plug-and-play upgrade path and cost-effective repeatable configurations for future deployments.
