ARRB Systems Road Surveying Accuracy Increases With MEMS-Based GNSS/INS Spatial Dual

ARRB Systems, an Australian road condition assessment company, needed a highly accurate and reliable navigation system for its Hawkeye road surveying vehicles. Their challenge was maintaining precise positioning and synchronized survey data in urban and rural environments where GNSS signals are often degraded or unavailable. Advanced Navigation’s Spatial Dual MEMS-based GNSS/INS was evaluated to improve dead-reckoning and keep surveys spatially accurate.

Advanced Navigation implemented Spatial Dual into ARRB Systems’ Gipsi-Trac2 dead-reckoning and Hawkeye survey solution, providing precise timing, reliable navigation, and accurate orientation even in GNSS-denied conditions. ARRB Systems said the solution integrated seamlessly, improved navigation consistency through challenging terrain, and offered strong value compared with alternatives. The result was increased position accuracy and more dependable road survey data for better maintenance planning and roadway analysis.
