Sunbeam House Service - Customer Case Study

Sunbeam House Services is a voluntary charity providing training, employment and 24/7 care for adults with intellectual disabilities across 30 units in Wicklow and south Dublin. With over 300 staff and complex shift patterns (including split shifts and a 3x8 nursing rota), rosters were managed manually with spreadsheets and paper, creating heavy administrative overhead and a need for a more efficient, labour-saving solution.

Sunbeam implemented Advance Systems’ Time Management System (launched April 2004) in a phased roll-out, which streamlined shift patterns, automated hours transfer to payroll, and gave staff access to work history, holiday entitlements and leave from any terminal. ID swipe cards improved security and real-time location tracking, staff can clock in at any terminal (useful for mobile roles like physiotherapists), paperwork was greatly reduced and unit managers gained better forward planning — all supported by ongoing professional service from Advance Systems.
