East Bernard Independent School District Leverages ADTRAN for Its Networking Needs

The East Bernard Independent School District, a school system with over 1,000 students, faced significant challenges with its legacy Cisco Wi-Fi network. The network was unreliable and difficult to manage for its small, two-person IT team, which hampered the district's bring your own device (BYOD) policy and modern learning initiatives. To support classroom applications and hundreds of connected devices, EBISD needed a robust, scalable, and easily manageable solution, leading them to partner with vendor Adtran.

Adtran implemented a comprehensive networking solution featuring Bluesocket virtual WLAN (vWLAN), NetVanta switches, and Bluesocket access points. This provided the district with a stable, high-bandwidth Wi-Fi network that was simple to manage and eliminated single points of failure. The results were worry-free connectivity for teachers and students, a greatly reduced burden on the IT staff, and a cost-effective foundation that allows EBISD to easily scale its network to meet future demands and expand its 1:1 device program.
