ADTRAN’s Virtual Wireless LAN Supplies Complete Connectivity to the Municipality of Opera

The Municipality of Opera, located near Milan, faced the challenge of creating a single, secure Wi-Fi network across its 15 schools without the use of fiber connections. They needed a centrally managed solution to provide consistent security, maintenance, and quality of service for students and staff, integrating with existing IT infrastructure.

ADTRAN implemented its vWLAN virtual appliance and Bluesocket Access Points to create a multi-tenant Wi-Fi service managed from the Town Hall. This solution provided centralized control, unified security policies, and high-speed internet access across all schools. ADTRAN's deployment resulted in improved network quality and reliability, allowing the municipality to offer controlled access and paving the way for future digital education initiatives.
