A AdRem Software Case Study
Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (MHH) faced the challenge of monitoring a vast campus network spread across 48 buildings and 400,000 square meters, including building control systems, automation stations, and critical technical equipment. Due to multiple external contractors, the network was vulnerable to loops, duplicate IP addresses, unauthorized devices, and growing complexity, so MHH turned to AdRem Software’s NetCrunch monitoring tool.
AdRem Software implemented NetCrunch to give MHH separate, transparent monitoring across VLANs and network segments, with TCP/IP, SNMP3, BACnet, and traffic analysis. The solution helped quickly identify high-traffic automation stations that were delaying reports, prevent loop and IP duplication issues, and localize faulty devices such as UPS batteries or problematic automation stations by building, floor, and room, improving troubleshooting across the campus network.
