Comune of Sestri Levante Liguria - Customer Case Study

The Comune of Sestri Levante, a coastal municipality in Liguria, Italy, needed to manage a growing, distributed network spanning four major locations and several smaller sites (16 TCP/IP networks), about 650 monitored nodes (including ~350 workstations and 30 servers), public hotspots and multiple public services. Existing point tools and freeware provided scattered, insufficient data, so the IT team sought a centralized, scalable monitoring solution to improve visibility and troubleshooting across schools, libraries, public services and the expanding hotspot mesh.

They deployed AdRem Software’s NetCrunch, which delivered advanced logical and physical network visualization, port mapping, centralized events and Web-accessible diagnostics, and proactive client/server monitoring. NetCrunch consolidated monitoring of servers, services (mail, DNS, web, VoIP, streaming, databases), security devices and cameras, and produced detailed reports (server performance, user activity, link traffic). As a result the municipality gained comprehensive, real-time visibility and faster root-cause troubleshooting, allowing IT staff to manage the entire infrastructure more effectively.
