A ADP Case Study
TomTom, the Dutch automotive navigation manufacturer with about 3,500 employees and offices in 40 countries, faced growing pains as headcount and international presence expanded rapidly. Its HR and payroll processes lagged behind that growth: TomTom relied on a local Dutch payroll system that wasn’t built for global use, creating inefficiencies and inconsistent outputs across countries and making it difficult to maintain consistent KPIs.
TomTom moved to a multinational payroll contract with a managed payroll partner, adopting a single system to submit changes and receive outputs and tapping the provider’s local expertise. The result: payroll processes became streamlined and more efficient, fees became predictable (driven by employee counts), countries can be added easily, legislative changes are applied promptly by the provider, and the company gained greater scalability, cost control and compliance—while standardising KPIs across all locations remains a next step.
