A ADP Case Study
SMS Holdings is a Nashville-based family of companies with about 8,000 employees that provides housekeeping, maintenance, downtown ambassador services, uniforms and quick-service restaurants across the U.S. and Canada. After acquisitions revealed a patchwork of payroll, applicant tracking, recruiting and timekeeping systems that made real-time reporting, cross-border collaboration and consistent employee communication difficult, the company launched the People, Action and Technology (PAT) project to standardize systems and support strategic growth.
SMS implemented ADP Workforce Now along with ADP Strategic Advisory Services, ADP Intelligent Self-Service and ADP Mobile to unify HCM processes across its businesses and geographies. The platform enabled 15,000+ self-service changes, streamlined recruiting (430 hires with an estimated $40,000+ time savings), eliminated paper pay-statement costs (about $6,500 in paper and $100,000 postage savings), improved reporting and employee experience, and provided a scalable foundation for faster, more agile acquisitions—work that earned recognition with ADP’s People at Work award.
