Reimagining Global Benefits and Payroll Making a Case for Transformation

Cerner Corporation, a Kansas City–based healthcare company with more than 24,400 employees, faced rapid growth and acquisition-driven complexity that left it managing 223 disparate benefits programs and many manual, insecure processes. That fragmentation created compliance and scalability risks, poor associate experience (fragmented information and frequent service tickets), and unsustainable operational overhead.

As part of its HR Reimagined initiative Cerner deployed ADP’s integrated payroll and benefits platform, implementing payroll first and then benefits connectivity with single sign‑on and managed services. The automation reduced manual data by about 85%, cut payroll processing by two days, extended the benefits cut‑off by three days, improved transparency and associate experience, and freed HR to focus on more strategic work.
