A ADP Case Study
Parkdale Mills, a Gastonia, NC–based leader in spun yarn (producing about 18 million pounds weekly), faced a roughly 75% drop in demand during 2020 that forced multiple facility shutdowns and thousands of furloughs. The company needed to sustain operations, protect employee health, and find a way to keep people employed amid rapidly changing COVID-19 conditions.
Parkdale partnered with ADP for real-time guidance and recruitment support, implemented strict safety protocols on the floor, and joined an industry coalition to pivot production to PPE—answering a White House request and committing to 600 million face masks. The effort brought thousands back to work, kept infection rates low in their plants, improved hiring and retention through ADP RPO, and earned recognition for resiliency.
