Sika North America, a specialty chemical products supplier, pursued an aggressive acquisition strategy that grew its U.S. workforce from 868 to about 1,500 across 45 states in five years. That rapid expansion—managed by a small payroll team (one manager and one direct report) running multiple weekly and semi-monthly multistate payrolls—created unpredictable complexity and strain on payroll operations.

The result was more reliable, faster multistate payroll processing (even for last‑minute acquisitions), tighter integration of time and attendance, richer reporting, and a dependable customer‑service partnership that allowed payroll to add greater strategic value.
