A ADP Case Study
KIPP Houston Public Schools, a nonprofit network with 28 schools and about 1,700 employees, needed to scale hiring and support for a planned surge in enrollment while fixing widespread manual HR processes. New chief talent officer Chuck Fimble found critical gaps — spreadsheets, paper-based calculations, and benefits paid to former employees — that created error risk and consumed staff time just when the district must recruit and retain hundreds of teachers each year.
KIPP implemented ADP Workforce Now® to automate payroll, benefits, time and attendance, and employee self-service, including iPad clock-ins and Carrier Connections to sync carrier data. The changes eliminated payroll and benefits errors, gave HR real-time reporting and analytics, reduced back-office headcount, freed budget to hire more teachers, and let the team focus on talent development and student support.
