A ADP Case Study
Graco Inc., a Minneapolis-based manufacturer of fluid-handling equipment with about 2,600 employees, was running benefits on a paper-based, manual system—file cabinets, paper open enrollment booklets, and heavy HR phone traffic—that was unsustainable and made federal Health Care Reform compliance more difficult.
After a vendor review Graco chose ADP’s hosted Health and Welfare solution, which integrated with payroll, provided online enrollment and reporting, and included hands-on implementation support (May–Aug). The system streamlined onboarding (including adding 240 acquired employees), reduced errors and paperwork, simplified ACA-related reporting, and produced reported savings of about 34% in hard costs and 48% in soft costs (2010–2012), while improving HR efficiency and earning internal recognition.
