Nugent Sand Company is a family‑owned sand and gravel supplier headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, with seven locations across Indiana and Kentucky and about 130 employees. Before switching systems, the company relied on Paylogic and handwritten timesheets that produced more than 12,000 pieces of data across locations and pay/cost codes, creating time‑consuming, error‑prone processing and difficulties deciphering illegible handwriting and getting records to the main office.

Nugent implemented ADP Workforce Now, adopting drop‑down menus by location and job classification, the Time & Attendance module, and paperless pay statements (rolled out in April 2021 with ADP’s guidance). The change streamlined payroll and HR tasks, gave managers remote access to accurate data, empowered employees to update their own information, reduced overtime for HR staff, and delivered measurable time and cost savings.
