A ADP Case Study
Suit-Kote, headquartered in Cortland, New York, is a major North American asphalt manufacturer and road-construction firm with 21 locations and about 730 employees. The company struggled with disparate HR and payroll systems, paper-based onboarding (as many as 200 pieces of paper per new construction worker during seasonal rehiring), inefficient manual data entry, and the burden of staying compliant with differing state tax and prevailing-wage rules.
By implementing ADP Workforce Now for Construction, Suit-Kote consolidated payroll, HR, onboarding and benefits into one platform. The change automated onboarding and benefits selection, eliminated piles of paperwork, simplified certified payroll and reporting, and saved significant staff time (the payroll manager reports cutting weekly report work by about 1.5 hours). HR and the benefits broker are happier, prevailing wages and deductions are applied correctly, and the company plans to add ADP’s time-and-attendance module to further integrate job costing and payroll.
