Covia, a Walnut Creek–based nonprofit serving the greater Bay Area with about 1,200 employees, struggled with fully paper-based benefits administration: employees filled out forms that HR faxed and manually entered into payroll, reconciled dozens of vendor bills by location, and often missed timely terminations—costing roughly $40–50K and creating tedious, error-prone work.
By implementing ADP Benefits (ADP Vantage HCM) with electronic file feeds, premium billing, self-service enrollment and mobile access, Covia automated enrollments, terminations and ACA reporting. The change saved about 230 hours a year, eliminated multi-location reconciliation, improved compliance and open enrollment efficiency, reduced costs and freed HR to focus on employee support and training.
