Canyon Ranch Retools its Strategy to Retain Top Talent

Canyon Ranch, a leading luxury wellness resort with more than 1,800 employees across specialized roles from therapists to chefs, faced high early turnover among new hires that threatened its ability to deliver a consistent, immersive guest experience as it pursued growth. The company needed a Human Capital Management solution to hire, manage and retain talent who embody its wellness brand.

By adopting ADP’s HCM and analytics, Canyon Ranch identified spikes in attrition among recent hires, revamped onboarding to immerse new employees in the brand’s culture, adjusted hiring processes and used benchmarking to inform compensation. The changes cut companywide attrition by 16.3%, lowered attrition to roughly 66% below industry averages, and reduced average time-to-fill from 82 days to 28 days (14 days below the SHRM national average).
