American Woodmark, a Winchester, Virginia–based cabinet manufacturer with more than 10,000 employees across 18 manufacturing and distribution facilities and eight service centers, centers its operations on a people-first culture guided by CITE principles (customer satisfaction, integrity, teamwork and excellence). The company faced the challenge of engaging a dispersed workforce and modernizing manual HR processes—from paper-based benefits enrollment and performance management to slow year-end ACA processing—while keeping culture and communication front and center.

American Woodmark implemented ADP Vantage HCM, ADP DataCloud, MyADP/ADP Mobile, Talent Insights and Wisely to centralize HR, payroll and analytics. The change delivered real-time dashboards for scorecards, streamlined performance-to-pay processes and online benefits enrollment, boosted MyADP and mobile engagement to 84% and 87%, cut ACA processing from weeks to hours (saving leadership about six weeks of work), and supported better succession planning—efforts that helped earn ADP’s 2023 Culture at Work client award.
