ADT Secures Time and Cost Savings in the Midst of a Merger

ADT, the large North American home and small business security provider, faced major payroll and HR challenges after merging with Protection 1. With more than 17,000 employees, multiple pay groups and FEINs, and costly monthly paycheck distribution, ADT needed help unifying inconsistent policies and simplifying a complex payroll environment. ADP, already a partner for HCM services, was brought in to support the transition.

ADP implemented change management workshops, a company-wide communications plan, call center support, mobile self-service access, and payroll process consolidation. As a result, ADT streamlined policies and reduced errors, cut FEINs by 25%, pay groups by 40%, and individual payrolls by 60%, while moving from daily payroll processing to just one to two days per week. ADP also helped ADT achieve 50% savings in shipping costs through the move to direct deposit and the Go Green campaign.
