Yakima Chief Hops presents brewers with solution-based ordering system

Yakima Chief Hops (YCH) is a 100% grower‑owned hop supplier and the largest hop distributor in North America, serving commercial breweries, distributors and homebrewers worldwide. Because most sales are multi‑year, highly customized contracts and brewers also buy from a Spot Market, YCH faced a complex, labor‑intensive ordering process that required manual quotes and made it hard for customers to buy contracted and spot inventory anytime, especially outside business hours.

Working with Binary Anvil, YCH implemented Adobe Commerce with a custom order management system and ERP/WMS integrations to create a self‑service portal that shows contract details, reserves inventory by lot, and automates fulfillment. The portal drove rapid adoption—about 70% of U.S. orders routed through e‑commerce in year one—boosted B2B spot sales (≈+20%), reduced manual order handling and enabled faster, more accurate order processing with a low integration triage rate.
