A Adobe Case Study

University professors and medical staff connect with global community and top practitioners, reinforcing the school’s position as a premier institution

The University of Cape Town (UCT), a leading African research and teaching institution, needed a reliable way for its Division of Pediatric Surgery to share highly technical training with global audiences, manage meetings efficiently, and maintain its academic leadership. Geographic and technical barriers were limiting live participation and access to specialist knowledge, making it harder to run regular, interactive teaching and collaborative events.

UCT implemented Adobe Connect with the support of distributor Dax Data and partner Learning Curve, enabling real-time and recorded sessions accessible from any internet-enabled device. The platform delivered consistent, reusable content with rich engagement tools (video, chat, presentations), removed attendance barriers, and boosted collaboration—weekly meetings now include international contributors, recordings reach about 300 views per month, and overall use and recorded-meeting storage have significantly increased.
