A Adobe Case Study
The University of Oregon’s School of Journalism and Communication needed to equip students with modern digital publishing skills, keep its curriculum on the leading edge of journalism and technology, and enable collaborative creation of content for mobile platforms. To test new workflows and respond to industry shifts toward tablets and interactivity, the school launched an experimental Mobile Media Production course.
By adopting Adobe Digital Publishing Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud apps (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), students produced interactive digital magazines such as OR Magazine and apps like FLUX and Envision, learning professional workflows from wireframing to interactive build. The program drove strong engagement and industry recognition (including a Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Crown), spawned additional campus publications and a production unit, and helped 95% of course graduates move into professional media careers.
