United Heritage Credit Union (Austin, TX) is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative that needed to attract new members and deepen relationships with existing ones amid shifting expectations for digital, personalized engagement. UHCU’s challenge was to grow assets and achieve economies of scale while communicating with individuals based on behavior that reveals their interests and needs across email, web, social, and traditional channels.
By implementing Adobe Marketo Engage to automate behavioral targeting and integrate channels (email, Facebook, ads, direct mail), UHCU launched personalized journeys, onboarding sequences, and individualized messages. The program raised email open rates by 41.7% (to 54.7%), click-through rates by 40.5% (to 5.2%), cut unsubscribes by 71%, and helped drive double-digit asset growth (about 16%, roughly $200M).
