The Open University, the UK’s largest mostly online university, needed to replace a legacy web conferencing tool with a more robust, accessible platform for live online learning. The university wanted to support 200,000 students with better engagement, cross-device usability, strong accessibility, and fewer help desk tickets, and chose Adobe Connect from Adobe.
Adobe implemented Adobe Connect with support from Collaborate, helping The Open University roll it out university-wide in under 18 months. The result was nearly 80,000 learning events a year, a 150% increase over four years, and more than 65 million online course meeting minutes, while scaling to 6,000 peak concurrent attendees and improving consistency, accessibility, and student experience.
