Case Study: SignUpGenius achieves 300% more traffic per server with Adobe ColdFusion

A Adobe Case Study

Preview of the SignUpGenius Case Study

SignUpGenius builds high-volume, low-latency applications quickly and reliably

SignUpGenius, launched in 2008 to replace paper sign-up sheets, helps groups organize millions of events via desktop and mobile web. The company needed to deliver a fast, reliable user experience, support large bursts of simultaneous sign-ups and emails, and continuously add features with a very small development team.

By building on Adobe ColdFusion with a lightweight RESTful architecture and a multi-instance deployment (three ColdFusion instances per server across 12 web servers), SignUpGenius achieved high throughput and simple scaling. The site handles about 350 requests per second at peak, supports 300% more traffic per physical server, lets a small team rapidly add features, and delivers improved performance, stability, and operational efficiency.
