Case Study: City of Seattle achieves paperless, accessible court documentation with Adobe Acrobat Sign

A Adobe Case Study

Seattle City Attorney’s Office increases access to court documents with Adobe Acrobat Sign and Microsoft

The City of Seattle’s Seattle City Attorney’s Office needed a way to keep court documentation accessible and efficient while moving away from a highly paper-based process, especially during COVID-19 social distancing. Using Adobe Acrobat Sign, the team aimed to reduce delays, errors, and the burden of storing and transporting thousands of pages of paper.

Adobe implemented digital courtroom workflows with Acrobat Sign, along with Microsoft Power Automate and SharePoint, enabling attorneys, defendants, and judges to complete and sign forms remotely. The result was a paperless system that handles about 1,800 documents per month, automatically files records in SharePoint, and cut the carbon footprint for court documentation by 90.7% by eliminating more than 250,000 pieces of paper annually.
