The Global Society for Digital Marketing Innovators (SoDA) is an international association of agency leaders that publishes The SoDA Report to inform and inspire digital marketers. Wanting to stay ahead of industry trends and demonstrate the business value of tablet publishing to member agencies, SoDA faced the challenge of transforming its popular PDF report into an immersive, cross‑platform tablet app that would appeal to top digital agencies and evolve with each quarterly update.
Working with Universal Mind, SoDA used Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (Enterprise Edition) and Adobe InDesign to repurpose familiar print workflows into interactive iPad and Kindle Fire editions—adding video, links, and other rich media. Launched in April 2012 at $1.99, the app leveraged built‑in analytics to optimize content and inform future editions; the effort produced a carefully curated, interactive publication that showcased tablet publishing capabilities and aimed to grow on the PDF’s 40,000 downloads with ongoing enhancements like interactive infographics and social plug‑ins.
