A Adobe Case Study
Palo Alto High School’s journalism program, founded by Esther Wojcicki, is the largest high school journalism program in the U.S. and faced the challenge of moving beyond traditional reporting to teach multimedia storytelling, critical thinking, and to expand those methods across the school. With more than 500 students and a portfolio of student-run publications and broadcasts, Paly needed tools and workflows that could support professional-quality print, web, and video production.
Paly adopted Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection—including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and Dreamweaver—to create an integrated, multimedia curriculum and professional workflows. The result: expanded publications and daily broadcasts, prestigious awards (The Campanile’s growth, Verde’s Pacemaker and Gold Crown, honors for Viking), stronger interdisciplinary learning, alumni placements at top media outlets, and a plan for a new professional-grade media center.
