A Adobe Case Study
Pacific University, a liberal-arts university in Oregon, faced a legacy, desktop-first website that overwhelmed users with cluttered navigation while needing to serve diverse audiences—prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, and admissions. The primary challenge was to modernize the site for a mobile-first world, simplify information architecture, and create clear pathways for prospective students without sacrificing other stakeholders’ needs.
The team rebuilt the site in-house using Adobe XD, adopting a mobile-first approach, consolidating dozens of menu items into five primary options, and enhancing academic search to surface related programs. XD enabled rapid prototyping and stakeholder collaboration, the new site rolled out in phased releases, and the result is a more usable, competitive website with clearer user journeys and ongoing iterative improvements.
