Modernizing horse racing with a Webby award-winning website: DeepSleep and 1st.com
DeepSleep Studio partnered with entertainment and real estate company 1/ST to modernize the image of thoroughbred horse racing and attract younger audiences. The challenge was to create a fresh, consumer-facing website for 1st.com that could make a traditional sport feel relevant again, using Adobe XD in the design process.
Using Adobe XD, DeepSleep Studio rapidly prototyped a visually rich, mobile-friendly site with centralized content, cinematic video, and a cleaner UI inspired by jockey silks and Swedish design. The result was a Webby Award win for best general sports website in 2020, and the project’s success led 1/ST to ask DeepSleep Studio to build websites for all of its racetracks.
