MIT Institute of Design brings designs into a unified, more secure package with Adobe Acrobat

MIT Institute of Design, part of MIT ADT University in Pune, needed a way to help students, faculty, and staff share design work, thesis projects, and documents in a more professional and secure format. With many different design disciplines and file types in use, the school turned to Adobe Acrobat to create unified portfolios, manage feedback, and protect sensitive academic materials.

Adobe implemented Adobe Acrobat as a central PDF and document workflow tool for MIT Institute of Design, enabling students to combine work from multiple applications into single portfolio files, and letting faculty annotate assignments directly. The solution also added security features like passwords, watermarks, permissions, and digital signatures for agreements and internal documents. As a result, MITID streamlined paper-based processes, improved collaboration, and increased protection for intellectual property across its 300 faculty and staff licenses and student lab access.
