Case Study: AirPlus International achieves paperless, compliant workflows and saves 150 hours annually with Adobe Sign (Adobe)

A Adobe Case Study

Preview of the AirPlus International Case Study

Lufthansa AirPlus remains competitive in a changing market using paperless workflows supported by Adobe Sign

Lufthansa AirPlus Servicekarten GmbH, founded in 1989 with about 1,300 employees serving 60 markets and 49,000 customers, needed to stay competitive as traditional banks and fintech startups changed the travel-payments landscape. The company faced pressure to deliver online services globally while maintaining compliance with complex international regulations and improving internal efficiency.

After evaluating about 15 vendors, Lufthansa AirPlus implemented Adobe Sign—quickly deployed using Adobe APIs—and rolled it out from a pilot to HR workflows. The paperless solution eliminated printing and scanning, saved roughly 15 minutes per internal document (about 150 hours annually based on 600 documents), cut turnaround from as long as six weeks to as little as 15 minutes, strengthened audit trails for compliance, and is being expanded and integrated with ERP systems as part of broader digital transformation.
