Lookers jumpstarts contactless car sales with Adobe Sign

Lookers, a UK automotive retailer founded in 1908 with more than 140 dealerships and 6,500 employees, faced a sudden sales disruption when COVID-19 closed showrooms and left a backlog of over 8,000 vehicles. Its website had been a product catalogue rather than a sales channel, so the company urgently needed a secure, fully contactless way for customers to view, reserve, and buy cars remotely.

Working with Adobe and Microsoft, Lookers launched Click & Drive, digitizing all paperwork with Adobe Sign and integrating e‑signed documents into SharePoint. The move cut the contract process from up to 17 wet signatures to a single digital exchange, cleared the 8,000-vehicle backlog within one week, delivered six months of work in six weeks, and saved an estimated 16 million sheets of paper a year—accelerating Lookers’ shift to omnichannel sales.
