METRO AG, a leading wholesale group based in Düsseldorf with more than 97,000 employees, faced slow, paper‑based signature processes across the employee life cycle and supplier contracts. The company’s objectives were to eliminate paper forms, accelerate HR approvals and internal releases, digitally centralize document workflows, and enable a simple, scalable global rollout.
Starting in 2017 METRO adopted cloud‑based Adobe Sign, enabling a fast, low‑training rollout across HR and purchasing. Today about 1,400 users handle roughly 20,000 signature processes a year, cutting turnaround from up to 288 hours to around 10 hours (28x faster), removing media disruptions, minimizing support needs, enabling remote work during COVID, and delivering a scalable, modern signing experience for employees and suppliers.
