A Adobe Case Study
Kane County’s Circuit Court Clerk’s office, serving one of Illinois’s largest counties and managing over 150,000 cases a year, needed to speed and simplify how orders of protection—often used in domestic violence cases—are filed and shared across judges, clerks, advocates, and the sheriff. The manual, paper-driven process could take hours and hinder collaboration and timely protection for victims.
The office deployed Adobe LiveCycle solutions and an online wizard to create interactive PDF forms, enable e-signatures, and automate routing and filing with LiveCycle Workflow. The result: forms can be completed in about 30 minutes instead of hours, processing is up to five times faster, orders reach the sheriff within roughly 60 seconds of judicial signature, and citizen access, staff productivity, and cross-agency collaboration have all improved while reducing costs.
